Hi, Dr Kat here from My Dentist Alderley in Brisbane.
I was speaking with one of our new patients Sandra from New Market this morning about holistic dentistry, and she commented that she has never heard of it. And it occured to me that even though holistic dentistry has been around for a while, it is still a relatively new concept for a lot of people. So I thought I’ll make a video about it.
So what is holistic dentistry?
Holistic dentistry is an approach to care that goes beyond just considering your dental needs. We look at you as a whole person, and not just a mouth. We take into account your emotions and physical health as well. Ultimately, we want to get you well and keep you well, naturally, while encompassing modern science and advanced techniques for care.
We start by looking at your diet and we incorporate proper nutritional habits for the prevention or reversal of a problematic oral disease.
We avoid the use of harsh chemicals and toxins in dental products or materials. We always incorporate materials that are non-toxic and natural to help maintain your wellness.
We help you handle bite problems, also known as dental malocclusion by addressing the physical imbalance.
We are also Safe Amalgam Removal technique certified. Did you know that Amalgam fillings contain a high concentration of mercury, which can be damaging to your health. Removing them requires a safe and efficient process, which only comes with the advanced training that we have.
Finally, all of our clinicians are airway aware and understand the connection between airway problems and oral health and occlusion.
So I hope I have given you a better understanding of what holistic dentistry is, and how we incorporate them here at My Dentist to serve you and your family better and healthier.
If you like the sound of this approach, we would love to look after you here at My Dentist. Simply complete the enquiry form on our website, give us a call, or direct message us on social media, and we will be in touch to organise your consultation.
