My Dentist has a long history within the Alderley community, dating as far back as 1929 when it was opened by Jack Twomey. Jack practiced as a dentist here for over 40 years, before the practice was purchased by Dr Graham Thomas in 1989.

These days, the practice is owned and operated by Dr Kat Marhfour, a highly trained dentist who brings 17 years of general dental experience. Not only that, but she is also hugely passionate about furthering her knowledge through hundreds of hours of extra-curricular studies.

Dr Kat Marhfour is not your typical dentist. With almost 20 years of experience and a passion that has only deepened over time, she brings a powerful blend of artistry, science, and wellness to modern dentistry.

Kat began her dental journey with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) from the University of Melbourne in 2007. Early in her career, she mastered the fundamentals of general and family dentistry, working long hours and seeing thousands of patients. But after years of practising in a conventional model, she began to feel a growing dissonance between what she was taught and what she instinctively knew was possible—a form of care that didn’t just treat teeth, but respected the person behind them.

This discomfort wasn’t only professional—it was deeply personal. As Kat embarked on her own health and wellness journey, driven by a desire to live with vitality and raise strong, healthy children, she became increasingly aware of the disconnect between some oral treatments and their impact on long-term, whole-body health.

That realisation marked a turning point.

Kat immersed herself in advanced cosmetic dentistry, studying facial harmony, smile design, and digital dentistry techniques. At the same time, she pursued extensive additional training in wellness-aligned, biocompatible, and minimally invasive methods. She began to reimagine a new model of care—one where beauty and biology could coexist; where dentistry could feel intuitive, empowering, and aligned with lifelong health.

That vision came to life in My Dentist Brisbane, a boutique cosmetic and holistic clinic located in the heart of Alderley. Under Kat’s leadership, the clinic has evolved into a home for patients seeking a different kind of dental experience—one that blends cutting-edge technology with a deeply human touch.

Kat is known for her calm presence, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to excellence. She takes time to truly listen, to understand her patients’ stories, and to co-create solutions that are as gentle and biocompatible, as they are effective and transformative.

Whether she’s performing a no-prep veneer makeover, guiding a patient through safe amalgam removal, or mentoring a new clinician in whole-body-conscious care, Kat is deeply committed to raising the standard—and shifting the paradigm—of what dentistry can be.

Outside the clinic, Kat lives in alignment with the values she brings to her work. She’s a devoted mum of two and finds joy in the simple rituals of daily life—organic cooking and movement. Her children remind her of the heart of her mission: to help people feel confident in their smiles and at home in their bodies.

Dr. Joee also has a special interest in surgical procedures, bringing a refined skill set and precision to every aspect of her work. Her expertise in this area allows her to offer advanced treatment options to patients who may require more complex dental care.

Dr. Joee is not only dedicated to her profession but also has a passion for food and travel, world of gaming and anime. She also likes quality time with her husband.

Fluent in both English and Farsi, she has a natural ability to put patients at ease — building the kind of trust that makes a real difference, especially for those who feel nervous in the dental chair.

With a background spanning hygiene practices across South Australia and Queensland, Soheila offers a broad and confident clinical skill set. At My Dentist, she provides thorough dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, fissure sealants, and children’s dental care. She is also experienced in Invisalign attachment placement and removal, fixed and removable retainers, Zoom whitening, iTero scanning, and alginate impressions — making her an invaluable part of your treatment journey from start to finish.

Soheila is passionate about patient education and preventative care, taking time to help each person truly understand their oral health and feel empowered to maintain it. Outside the clinic, she loves photography, hiking, swimming, and kayaking — a reflection of the active, wellness-focused approach she brings to life and to her work.
